The Courtenay Elementary Community School Society was busy helping with Sunday Station on the evening of October 4th. Sunday Station is the non-profit organization created by Angela Anderson and her daughter which provides individuals with a sandwich, coffee, articles of clothing and toiletries out of the parking lot at the old Courtenay train station. You can read about her efforts in this article in the Comox Valley Record.

Sunday Station reached out to the community, and CECSS responded by making available a few folding tables and a tent for rainy weather. Courtenay Elementary students also chipped in by writing a bunch of positive notes. These notes are included with the sandwiches and coffee that are handed out.

According to Angela, around 25 people were served this evening. The students’ notes were also a hit. The notes and the tables were small contributions to Sunday Station, but CECSS is happy help out with this community effort and will continue its support.
